IT’S A MIRACLE!

Amazing story from the Westside German Shepherd Rescue of Los Angeles:

After an emotional rollercoaster ride of sleepless nights, possible sightings, and keeping our hopes up, we got a call that our Victor has been found and is safe and sound! He’s on the skinny side but basically ok. He’s been surviving in the wilderness of the Sierra Nevadas for 6 ½ weeks!!!!!!! Lost in a remote area accessible only by 4 wheel drive vehicles, we were so worried about how he was going to find food and shelter or protect himself from the wildlife.

A HUGE shout out to the amazing Good Samaritan who has been tracking Victor since he went missing and who finally caught him. He is a true hero – an animal lover with a gigantic heart who could not bear the thought of our Victor being out there all alone. He never gave up. He made many treks through the forest, talking to campers, patiently waiting for a hopeful glimpse. Then, weeks later, Victor was spotted miles away from Funnel Lake at a camping area with some houses. A little dog in the yard got his attention and he kept going back. Our super hero set up a game trail camera, a dog crate with food and blankets and filmed Victor returning to the crate. He borrowed a humane trap from the animal shelter and…success!! He took Victor to his home and stayed up all night with him…assuring Victor that the ordeal was finally over. Victor settled down, found a dog bed and just fell asleep.

We are looking for a NEW foster home for him to stay in now that he has been found. If you live in the Los Angeles, San Fernando/Santa Clarita Valley or OC areas and can foster this dog-friendly boy please email WGSRFOSTER@GMAIL.COM and fill out an application here: http://www.sheprescue.org/Application_to_Adopt_a_Dog.html
